Who doesn't love Bojangles' Famous Chicken and Biscuits?
While working with Beanstalk Data, Bojangles' hired us to design and develop their first iOS and Android mobile app to support their loyalty efforts.
This was a fun project, allowing me to come up with and pitch ideas like "Biscuit Eatin' Progress" as a play on the traditional "Stamped" visits traditionally found in loyalty programs.
We coupled this effort with other products such as our email marketing platform and online ordering through our Xenial POS platform.
ebl Tutoring (Early Bird Learning) was looking to update their website with their new branding provided by a well-known design firm here in Charlotte.
Providing tutoring services to grade-level students with a specialty in ACT/SAT test prep - ebl Tutoring was looking for a fresh, approachable look to attract new business - as their previous branding was a bit dull and not very full of life.
In addition to the design, I also coded their existing wordpress theme (HTML,PHP, JS, CSS) to match the design.
Working under a contract for a local marketing firm here in Charlotte, Superfici was looking to modernize their presence in the market selling their industrial grade finishing systems.
This was one of my earlier web-design projects but I appreciated how it turned out aesthetically and was a catalyst for me to pursue this career further.
I enjoyed the challenge of taking (arguably) a traditionally non-sexy product like industrial finishing systems and breathing life into them through design.
I love having hobbies, it keeps me passionate.
So being the billiard aficionado that I am - I couldn't turn it down when Matt Riggs of The Smokin' Cue asked me to design a logo for his new Charlotte 9-Ball Tour.
A lot of people have tried to capture the "essence" of Charlotte skyline in a logo, but I really think this one is one of the better ones. I also appreciated how the tilt of the 9-Ball in the background symbolizes a moon - (given billiards is traditionally played at night with a few frosty beverages.)
This logo was to be used on digital platforms, apparel, and other products.
During my time working with Beanstalk Data, I was able to interact with several cool brands like Krispy Kreme - assisting them with collateral for their "Friends of Krispy Kreme" loyalty program.
I'm always excited to take these awesome brands, both designing and developing content for them. Their branding assets were a lot of fun to work with as a designer.
This was my design of their responsive welcome email, that came with a single-use coupon offer. I also developed the HTML, and if you've ever developed responsive HTML emails before - you can appreciate what all that entails.
That's right, I'm a bonafide Chilehead!
A leader in wholesale specialty food products, I assumed a variety of responsibilities during my time with Hot Shots. While my main focus was leading the charge for their custom private-label program (designing labels, printing/fulfilling orders), I also handled other marketing aspects of the business like creating their new logo, branding collateral, HTML email marketing campaigns via ConstantContact, annual 72(ish) page product full-color catalog, as well as maintaining their website development and content updates in ZenCart.
My experience with Hot Shots was rewarding and a ton of fun. It gave me a lot of flexibility to try my hand in a lot of other new areas like product photography and character design - as well as further my skill set in web development technologies.
This particular design was a concept for a new website that I worked up during my time there.
